Cee*Why Beats is a seasoned producer, musician, and educator whose sonic journey began in the vibrant funk jam scene of early ’90s London. Cutting his teeth alongside icons like Jamiroquai, Questlove, and Galliano, he quickly established himself as a versatile session player with a gift for improvisation—expressing himself through turntables and percussion.

His early studio days saw him engineering and collaborating with the likes of Goldie, The Chemical Brothers, and Fine Young Cannibals, as well as supporting major acts such as The Spice Girls, Billy Ocean, and Lucky Dube as a DJ.

In 1999, he joined Jehst’s groundbreaking UK hip hop label, YNR Productions, where he made his mark as Cee*Why. For the next decade, he produced for some of the UK’s most respected rappers including Taskforce, Foreign Beggars,

Kalashnekoff, Verb T, Yungun (Essa), and many others. His work featured on national radio stations like BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, and he earned film credits including a placement on the cult classic Kidulthood.

As the UK hip hop scene evolved, Cee*Why shifted his focus toward education—lecturing in music technology and mentoring young creatives. He went on to co-found Big Creative Academy in London, a thriving creative arts institution that now serves over 500 full-time students and has received an 'Outstanding' rating from OfSTED.
Today, Cee*Why is fully reimmersed in music production, blending hip hop foundations with roots reggae and global influences. His current sound is a rich, genre-defying fusion—crafted from decades of experience, experimentation, and soul.
